How to keep flavored cigars from cross-contaminating?

This question is for all you cigar connoisseurs out there. As many of you are aware, when storing flavored cigars you are supposed to keep them in a separate humidor from unflavored ones to prevent the flavors from sticking to the unflavored. I was wondering recently though, if you store various flavored cigars in the same humidor, wouldn’t their flavors all affect each other? I am just wondering if I would have to buy separate small humidors for each individual flavored cigar, or if I could keep all flavored in one humidor. Thanks.

i have a half smoked cigar in my humidor and its still in its wrapper but it seems that since i put it in there the humidity has dropped 5% or so and i am curious as to if the half smoked cigar is contributed to this. it also has left a smokey smell to my humidor as well

Can you smoke a cigar with mold on it?

I accidentally over humidified my humidor for a short time and some of my cigars grew white fluffy looking mold. The mold was on the outside of the wrapper and a little on the inside of the foot.

I cleaned them off and put them back in my humidor, which is at the proper humidity (normally stays between 70% to 75%) and some seem to still grow a little bit of mold from time to time.

Would it be ok to just wipe the mold off and still smoke it or this this type of mold (if you know what kind it is by the "fluffy" description) hazardous to your lungs if smoked? I really don’t want to have to throw the cigars away because they are good cigars and not easy to come by.

I have been trying to age them but if the mold is going to keep coming back and I can smoke them, then I’d rather smoke them then lose them. Please let me know if they can be smoked or, what i’d rather do, if there is a way I can stop the mold from growing.

P.S. The mold, if thats what it is, seems to grow in very small dot patches throughout the cigars. Just in case, I don’t think it’s "bloom" cause the white stuff is fluffy and definitely not a powder. Plus, the cigars are maybe only about a year old, give or take. But I’m not a pro…yet, lol.

    Humidor troubleshooting?

A few days ago I received a shipment of 6 premium cigars. As I am beginner smoker, I do not have a humidor. I was forced to create a tupperdor. What I did was place the cigars in a fairly small tupperware container. When I say small I mean 4 inches tall, 8 inches in width. I also left a piece of damp paper towel taped to the lid for humidification. I kept it air tight and in a cool, dark place.

About a day and a half later I checked up on it and found them to be very moist, and barely starting to flake and expand. I immediately took them out and let them sit in regular humidity. I have Humi-care water pillows on order and am patiently waiting for their delivery. Is the small container my problem? Was the paper towel piece too big? Does the container size even matter? Will even one water pillow be too humid for my tupperdor? Any tips on restoring the moist cigars? And by the way, my cigars are without the cellophane wrappers. Thanks!

    Preserving Cigars?

Should you take cigars out of their plastic wrappers when you put them in your humidor, or will the wrappers help keep the cigar moist?

Cigars in desktop humidor – leave in celophane, or take them out?

I just got hubby some cigars for Fathers Day (even though he’s not a dad, but who cares).

When he puts them in his desk top humidor, is it better to keep them in the celophane wrappers or take them out?

(Some come with, some come without. Generally most of the cigars he likes are similar types, so there shouldn’t be an issue with different cigar types taking on flavors of neighboring cigars.)

I’m more concerned with how the 70% humidity hits the cigars. Does it get through the loose celophane anyway, or is it better to remove the celophane and let the humidity hit the cigars directly? Or does the celophane actually keep the cigars fresher?

Matt’s Beer Reviews (Formerly Let’s Drink With Matt): Cigar City Indian Pale Ale/ Scarface

Here is it folks, the season premier of season four of Let’s Drink With Matt; or should I say Matt’s Beer Reviews, the new name I’m going to go with for at least this season. This season will be full of all kinds of fun stuff, including a new segment where I will pair a beer with a movie. I know people like to pair beer with food, but since I like movies, this will be my special paring. The season premier features a beer that I have been waiting for a special occasion, and what a better time than the first episode of season four. This is the from the Humidor Series from Cigar City Brewery in Tampa, Florida; the Indian Pale Ale. I’m sure many of you have heard of Cigar City and its ever-growing reputation, and I have to say, this beer deserves all the accolades it has has bestowed upon it. This was the 2009 World Beer Cup Winner for Best Barrel Aged Ale. Cigar City isn’t widely distributed yet, but hopefully it will coming to a city near you, or pray that it is. The beer is aged in Spanish Cedar Barrels and retains a great earthy, smoky, and slightly sweet taste, as does its smell. The beer pours smooth with little head with a copper color. I was drinking this out of a snifter to get the most out of the beer. The smell was earthy and hoppy with a slight smell of a cigar box. Once it hit my lips, it was unlike any IPA I have ever had. it was chewy and had an initial bitterness, but quickly disappeared and turn smoky and sweet, with a cigar box taste. As the beer raised in

EN Humidor Adorini Cigar Container Guide Video

www.humidordiscount.com Humidor Guide – Information and recommendations about humidors and the correct cigar storage I. Cigars, a sensitive good – Nature and Culture – II. Key Components of a Humidor A humidor should ensure constant climate conditions of 68 to 74 percent relative humidity. The case of quality humidors should have an interior lining made of dried Spanish cedar wood, due to its excellent capacities for storing humidity and the special flavor emited by the wood. Simple humidification devices are based on sponge elements. More sophistaced devices are based on acryl polymers. The humidification device should regulate humidity to a constant level. The best option will be a fully electronically controlled humidifier. The hygrometer measures the level of humidity. Also for hygrometers, different systems are offered on the market. First choice are the so called hair hygrometers based on a synthetic hair mechanism as they posess a superior accuracy. The humidor case should be well sealed and the lid of the humidor should close tightly to avoid the escape of humidity. III. Adorini deluxe humidors – a new generation of humidors – Adorini humidors offer a range of unique features at an attractive price, which make them an excellent choice for the purchase of a new humidor. All adorini humidors come with a life-time warranty. Robust hinges ensure a proper seal of the humidor even after many years of use. The hinges are gold-plated and have been polished by hand. Inside

Why do cigars crack and unwrap when they are smoked?

I bought a premium cigar (Perdomo Lot 23 maduro) from a reputable cigar shop on a Wednesday and placed it in my humidor. When I lit 4 days later on Sunday it started cracking and the wrapper was coming off in very thin "flakes".
I was only able to smoke about half of it before it became too unpleasant and I abandoned it.
Is it too dry, too moist, or did I just get a bad cigar?
