I have one rule about danish aromatics. The dryer, the better. Even if they are in “crispy” condition, they are still better than moist. That’s about the danish ones of course, (Orlik and Mac Baren). I have no idea about the american.

    Cheers, NIck.

  • superpelic:

i personal did not like it so much…still a lot MC baren’s to try…

  • krayzdave:

    great willy wonka quote!

  • Akibatai00:

pretty sure it’s only me, but I always feel like I am smoking clay whenever I try mac baren…it’s odd…

  • ahmedsadik1983:

its a good tobacco i must say for the reason u want it to be,,if u like to concentrate more on the tobacco taste u hv to let the blend breath for a while “dry it” by packin it into ur pipe and leave it for sm time, or if u r shooting for the cherries then u need them to be moist,,never the less in both cases the aroma is socially beloved
    cheers

IPlumb Cake is as far as I go.Cheers Kelly

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

It may be as far as I go too, I’m becoming quite disenfranchised with any tongue bite at all. I guess I’m becoming a curmudgeon.

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that! :)

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

I can’t speak for all of them, but it is sure true with honey and chocolate. I think I’ll take a cue from you and try really drying out my mac b and try it that way. Thanks,

    Kel

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

I agree, they can be tongue destroyers for sure.

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

That does sound a little odd, but there’s not telling with personal chemistry. I have reactions to tobacco sometimes no one else seems to. For instance I can really taste bowl coatings when I get a new pipe, it is very profound for me. (others don’t seem to notice)

  • windbag1980:

Thanks for the video. I love the reality of the “live tobacco review” there is just nothing to match that first impression. I like aromatics, but cherry has always been a challenge (I had a bad incident with a pouch of Paladin Black Cherry and since then I have not been able to enjoy cherry anything – like when you drink too much Kahlua and throw up and then get nauseous next time you smell Kahlua). Thanks for the great post and the reviews. Your chocolate review was spot on, Great stuff!

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

I tried Paladin cherry once. (ONCE!) LOL

Might I recommend some Pipeworks and Wilke Cherry cavendish? I have recentlyl tried this blend and it isn’t too bad, not tongue bite. Though I think it can do with some drying time before smoking.

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • SilverPhantom2010:

I love that pipe. Is that the same one you show in your pipe collection 1 vid? I enjoy your pipe collection vids. Your collection sure makes my Dr.Grabow pipe collection look shabby. lol.

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

That is indeed the first Ser Jacopo that I ever owned, and it is the one in my pipe collection videos. Thank you for watching and enjoying my vids, that is what makes it worth while making them. I have a few more pipe collection videos I have to make. My collection is more a testiment to my addiction to Ebay than anything else me thinks. :)

    Best regards,

    Kel

  • padseenoodle:

I bet the room note was awesome.

  • ManiacalMikal:

you’ve left me with the impression this tobacco’s not going to make your top 10 list – am I right, K? – course, as you say, we’re all different – I tried a bowl of Danish Cherry from Jeannie’s in Utah and gave it a minus 5 on a scale from 1 to 10. could it be the berry thing, I wonder? – anyway, I’m not in any hurry to try another, that’s for sure. tamp ‘er light. MM

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

Since it was a first smoke, I’m not sure where it’s going to rank in my tastes. I am more concerned about the tongue bite than anything else at this point, the taste was nice. Cheers,

    Kel

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

I have a hard time telling what the room note of a particular blend is like as I smoke it. And since I don’t smoke around others I rarely get a reaction, but I would bet it was nice. Cheers!

  • bentbilliard:

I really have to try a cherry blend. But i still don’t know which tobacco i should buy. And this video does not help, haha. It left me with the feeling that I now know as much about this tobacco as I did before. So how do you like it, a reasonable time after the first try?
    Cheers,
    Alex

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

I would try Pipeworks and Wilke’s “cherry cavendish”. This vid isn’t a review, just a fun vid about a first try. I will (or may review) this baccy eventually, but you are right it takes lots of trys to really give a good opinion about something. The P&W cherry won’t bite you, and that is a good thing. I’m not so sure that MB lacks bite enouph for me to recommend it at this point. Hope that helps.

  • pipespel:

    Soft and nice smoking!

  • SmokeRingsPipeDreams:

    Thank you!

  • MetalBassjunkie420:

I have been a cig smoker for 3 years and I am new to pipe tobacco. Yesterday I bought a $12 Changfeng pipe and some Captain Black tobacco (white bag and it smells like chocolate). I like it. But what other good pipe tobacco brands are there? Just recommend me some good tobacco to try out. Thanks

  • Duchamp07:

I tried the plum cake and found that the plum really came out when I took a drink of beer.
